I created this cartoon map for John Traul of Attraction Maps Click on image to enlarge
This was one of the most challenging and interisting designs I have ever done. It shows the general layout of Homer, Alaska.
Because of the Spit feature the arrangement is very difficult to pull off, in addition perspective is not used to it's full advantage since every business must be shown equal in size.
Add to this the fact that businesses tend to be clustered in specific areas and you end up with some real headaches as a designer. Still it was fun and I think it works pretty well.
I used elements of the main map to create the cover design.
